Kids love picnics, even at Frye Mesa

Aunt Cathy has fond memories of having picnics with her family as a child so she suggested we have some with the girls. 

I admit that it was fun. 

We ate our packed lunch and then went on a short walk around the pond. 

Raegan touched the spines on the prickly pear cactus and was fascinated by it. She's a funny girl. Paige was very careful not to touch them at all. 

What good are ponds except to throw rocks in them? Simplest way to spark joy in kids. I loved watching them do it and see their faces when they "did it". 

The road getting up to the dam was sketchy as all get out. I'm glad going down was quicker than going up, and so were the girls.
