Oh my goodness! Yesterday was by far the best birthday I've had in my adult life. Wait, who am I kidding....best birthday ever :) Even though the day was filled with kids that made it their mission to be extra demanding, extra cranky, extra psychotic, all was made right in the world the moment Matt and I left to go out. I'm talking the second the door closed I felt like a MILLION bucks!
*I love them dearly but I needed to get out with my husband*
So we went. I think he had planned for us to go to dinner and a movie but I told him I wasn't really wanting to do the movie bit. I mean...I'm pretty stuck inside all the time so why choose to do that:) So we just went to dinner. Restaurant of choice? Glacier Brew House.
It. Was. Amazing.
We got an appetizer of salsa and chips and the salsa was fresh and delicious. Seriously....we tanked it. I should have cared but I didn't! For the main course I had the Chicken Rigatoni and Matt had the Bay Shrimp and Smoked King Salmon Caesar Salad. We enjoyed our meals very much. Mine was made with a garlic butter...and I could feel the oil on my lips...that's how buttery it was...lol. There was also no way I wasn't going to get dessert either! We didn't get a birthday cake.(which is good because then you don't have to figure out what you are going to do with the 3/4 of it that's left after the fact) Friends I'd like you to meet:
Mr. Original peanut butter pie
Mr. OPBP, meet my friends. I know if they got to taste you they would love you! But you all live far away so I got to enjoy him all by myself!
I don't have to tell any of you that I completely gorged myself on delicious food and weighed the next day had a wonderful time! It was great. -contented sigh-
I am back to reality now. But that's ok...because I have next year to look forward to spending some alone time with my husband and being "free" for just a few hours. So until then...I'll recharge the batteries with rendezvous to the grocery store...
alone :)

amen to grocery shopping alone. Even with the family wandering around the rest of wal-mart while I cruise the grocery isles by myself...lol I'll take those 30 minutes of peace any time I can get them!
Glad the rest of your evening was so much better. :) Dinner sounds great and I am glad you got time with your hubby. By yourself. That is the best thing ever.
So the moment I read "Mr. OPBP" I started to sing, "You down with OPP? (Yeah you know me!)" *shrugging shoulders* that's just me though.
Glad to hear you had such a good birthday!! :)
And P.S. pretty sure I jumped the gun at some past point and wished you a happy belated birthday. But just to set the time continuum straight, happy belated birthday!
sounds terrific.....a few moments together without kids.....and delicious food to boot!!!!!!!
So happy that you had such a great time! I would totally love Mr. OPBP! Maybe if you had mentioned that he was in Alaska too, people would visit you more often. Not that you're not super cool, but come on IT"S PEANUT BUTTER PIE!
