Dare I admit....

As it turns out...I was wrong. I know, I know...Meggan is never wrong;) BUt this wrongness in particular is slightly disturbing. It starts with this:

eaten like this:

And within three days looks like this:

(I'm not even sure it was a whole 3 days)

But we had some help from this:

and this:

their total help equaled this:

And by the end of documenting where our container of Nutella was at...we now have this:

Someone please help me from buying the much larger two-pack from Costco...

Ready, set, GO!

Life continues to amaze me. I have three kids. They take up a lot of time. Like a tremendous amount of time. And since being here I've had some moments where it's been rather depressing...and the advice I get? Busy myself with stuff that I like to do. Lol. Do you know how easy that is to say?

Run-down of my day
(in a 24 hour period)

2:00 am- get porky out of his bed to feed him since he is still gracing me with early a.m. wake up calls
6:30 am- get porky out of bed to feed him
6:45->7:30- lay in bed and wake myself up before B comes in to ask if he can get Miss C up
7:30- visit with Miss C when she comes into my room, try to keep her out of the bathroom since she loves playing in toilet water
8:30- get Miss C something to eat because she can't wait any longer and I can't listen to her screech at me any longer
9:00-feed porky
9:30- put porky down for a nap
9:35- get myself something to eat, fight off Miss C from trying to eat my breakfast too
9:45- tell B that I'm getting in the shower and to keep an eye in his sister and to be nice to her
10:05- get out of the bathroom to the sound of Miss C freaking out over who knows what, speak yell at B for picking on his sister and listen to him tell me he wasn't
10:30->12:00- referee two kids as they beat the tar out of each other play between the living room and bedroom.Count down the minutes till Matt gets home for lunch.

12:00->12:30 LUNCH

12:30- Matt puts kids down, I grab porky because it's time for him to visit before his meal
1:00- Matt's back to work and I sit down to feed porky
2:00- put porky down for his afternoon nap and try to figure out what I am going to "busy myself with"

I've got an hour people! An hour before the kids wake up and the insanity ensues! And the time frame after this hour is a blur as by this point I'm ready for the day to end and Matt to get home and dinner to be over and kids to go to bed. Holy run on sentence! But you get the point. I'm not complaining by any means. It's just another thing to laugh at when I'm asked why I don't do more with my life:) haha!

finding a niche?

Another week down here in the ginormous state of Alaska:) Our weekends seem to be filled with the most excitement...respectably. Although I did take on the biggest loser workout dvd after naps on Friday. I did really well not getting frustrated at my 5 year old's attempts to workout right under my feet:) Instead I was able to see the big picture of him and his sister finding it awesome to jump around and punch the air. I thought to myself "self, this is the example you need to be setting for your kids. The 'fun' it can be to get off your butt and move around". Seeing little Miss C try to do jumping jacks was adorable, and seeing B be just about as coordinated as I am was awesome:) I'm not sure how much of an athletic career that boy has...lol.

Saturday has turned into laundry day around here. So we threw that in the wash, and waited the half hour to throw it in the dryer. Money is tight, as you're aware, so to pinch a penny Matt divided the loads in two to wash it...same as last week. It was a tight two loads as we had more towels and some of his work clothes to be cleaned. And to dry...he put it all in the same load, and fearing it wouldn't dry forcing us to spend more, he put it on high heat. Well, we went and did our errands and when we got home he went to check and asked me "what is your prediction if they are dry or not"? I said "i'm going to say 70%". He came back and said they weren't really even close so he ran it again...on high heat. Well, laundry finished and this is what we had...

A new sweater vest for B!! hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!I told him today I feel like we are back in our newly-wed days, seeing as we are completely alone, and broke. Only difference is the three kids:) lol...isn't life funnay!

A couple other cool things that happened while we were out and about...we saw a moose! In the middle of Anchorage. Well...right next to the on ramp to New Seward highway. It was crazy! I'm really excited at the amount of wildlife we have seen in such a short time. Way neat in my book:) And, you ready?...there is a Kid to kid here!!!!! Yahoo!!! So now I can bring all of baby C's clothes, that he is fast-ly growing out of, there and get different clothes...for cheaper. The weekends keep making this place better:)

AND...we stay in the house all week. Literally. Matt takes the car to work and up until now, and even still, I haven't been wanting to venture on my own. So the poor kids entertain themselves with the toys we brought and with the free tv we found. So B finally asked to go outside. And Matt, being the sweet guy he is, obliged. B wanted to know what he could use for a sled...I said a plastic bag. Good idea, not so good execution. So his Dada, being the brains that he is:), came in and grabbed our laundry basket! Score!

Needless to say it has been a good weekend. I plan on making it a family event next weekend to go sledding. We shall see how well Miss C likes it:) Any bets on what she'll do? lol. I signed up to have the Missionaries for dinner...a thing that hasn't been done since...ever for us. I'm looking forward to the Spirit they are going to bring. Women's conference is this month. I'm going to try and go to that at our Stake also. -whew-...long winded today:) Till then,
Meg

In a blur

We have been in Alaska for one week today. It has been one heck of a week. We got in late Saturday night and stayed with Matt's good friend, who he used to work with, Kevin. The company Kevin works for now pays for the apartment he stays in which is a one bedroom. He graciously let us take it over basically...with him sleeping on the couch. It was a blessing that I am really grateful for even though during our stay with him I was less than happy. We took a giant leap of faith driving here because we both felt strongly that we needed to be here. So we drove up with whatever we could pack in the van including my computer that I wasn't sure would make it! Sooooo grateful for Matt and Chris for finding a way<3 So we drove...through Canada, on the Alaskan highway, in the middle of winter! Blessed on our travels would be an understatement! We had fabulous weather the whole way...even though it was -40 we didn't encounter any snow. We have continued to be blessed all the while having some tough trials. I hate stressing about money and my patience for things is on the crappy side too. But all things considered I'm so very grateful for Matt's family and the wonderful people that they are :) I'm trying to remind myself every day to be grateful for all the things I do already have. My family, Matt's job and the fact that he has officially started his career. He is now an electrical estimator:) No more tools, just nice clothes and an office. And the fact that he can come home for lunch every day! Time to go...it's dinner and the hoard is hungry....sort of.
