Meet 'Man-na'

So the little bird 'flew the coop' as they say. And her little wings took her to Alaska!
The kids and I were pretty excited about going to the airport to pick up Aunt Sibil. We even made some cute signs per her request.

She loves the show Adventure Time, so I thought it appropriate to help her feel normal by having her favorite characters plastered all over a giant poster board for fellows airport goers to stare at and ask silly questions. My son was as helpful as he always is, and only complained 87% of the time we were there. In between asking for something to eat after we had just had dinner not even 20 minutes beforehand.

This picture is titled "anguish". Enough said.

There she is!

This was the smile she broadcasted as she saw her sign, and the kids that were so lovingly waiting for her. Then she started crying. I figure it's because she was overcome with the realization that she was stuck in the 'last frontier' with this sign and kids joy and she was finally off the plane:)

And her new name is Manna. (Per the speech inflections of she-devil) Like 'manana' only without the middle 'a'. We are still trying to figure out how you get that out of Sable...

Au Revoir

We just dropped the hubs off at the airport. T-minus three weeks! Right now Miss C and Mr C are in their beds to nap and Mr B is outside playing. I try to get him to stay in my room for some quiet time but I'm thinking that making him go outside for "quiet time" is my best bet. He usually finds a way to disrupt both of the other two's naps which does nothing for my mood. If having him go outside works maybe I will get through the 1 1/2 hours without hearing"Mom, can I come out yet" or the "did you call me"?
So what to do with myself for the rest of today....hmmmm. I think the park is a good idea. Walking to the park is also a good idea because 1)it will save me some gas 2) loading and unloading kids is a tiring enough task to have to voluntarily want to do it!
Tomorrow is church so that will take  up a good bit of the day. It also means I am going to watch some John Wayne! My neighbor is letting me borrow North to Alaska and I'm pretty excited about it! OK...I'm boring myself. I'll end on a cute note:)
and yes his pants are unbuttoned because he just ate and he's a bit of a porker:)

Alaska

I wanted to share some pictures the hubs has sent me. He is doing well. Missing home, but doing well. We miss him a lot:) Not many words tonight...so enjoy!

They have gorgeous sunsets! This is from the top of their rig...and the water is right. there.

A huge herd of caribou. He tells me that Alaska has a no hazing policy...which means that if a herd is in the road...you have to wait patiently for them to cross. No honking or revving engines allowed. Fun!

Fun and games until the government gets involved

So it's been almost a week since the hubs has been gone. It hasn't been too bad, mostly because it has been busy around here. M & S have been here since Friday and they take off on Sunday. So we have been visiting and letting the kids play like wild banshees. Miss H spent Mon, Tue, and Wed night here with us. It was a good time. I let her have almost free reign of my snack basket which contained fruit by the foot. She was a happy camper. On her last visit I was running low on breakfast items and she comes from a group of siblings that are always hungry. I was dressed and B &C were dressed. Miss H was a little on the slacking side because she was playing with play-doh. I was patiently waiting for a nice break in play to motivate her to get dressed. And then I received this:
I had a good chuckle and then my preggo brain actually decided to be clever and respond with this:
Lol, it was amusing to me. And then Miss sassy pants gave me this:
It's kind of hard to read, but it says, "the gov has told me to get dressed I will after I get a fruit roll up the govt DEMANSD you to let us have food and not starve. Signed, the president of getting dressed". hahahahahahaha. Needless to say the half pint got dressed before her fruit roll up:) She's a character. I am starting to see the "tween" come out in her. Up until now, for me personally, she has still been a little kid. She still has a lot of kid in her play but the more girliness and drama is shining through. She is turning into a nice young lady and it's hard to believe that I have known this girl for just about 7 years. I hope I am making an impression on her like my Aunts did for me. Anyway!

Here is my cute baby taking a nap...I couldn't resist:)
And a cute video of the kids playing at the brook down the road.

And one more of all of them being goofballs:)

Where is this place?

So, it's final I guess. I received a text from the money maker today telling me that he is indeed going to Alaska. It's not a shock. We have been discussing and praying all weekend about what we should do. For those of you who don't know...here's a recap: Matt's current job has been rumored to end in August. While we can use this company to search among other jobs they have, Matt has tried to gain employment with Alaska for just about two years. He has a friend that has been up there this long. So CH2MHILL has offered him a job up in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. This requires a six week work and two week off schedule. And nothing ever happens slow with Matt...he leaves on Sunday and will return the first week of August...I think. Why take this job you ask? Because all of these traveling jobs have looked like our help to get out of debt. We are really optimistic that this is going to be "the one". Yes, I'm aware of how much traveling rots. And if our financial situation doesn't improve, it will rot even more. We've given it a year time limit because our boy will be starting school next year and I would prefer things to be "normal" for when that happens. So here's to our goal! Any prayers and support will be graciously accepted:) Till then,
Meg
