Sweet, sweet summatime

Are we the only ones with an 8 year old boy obsessed with being an American Ninja warrior?! Cause it's taken him by storm. Every chance he has to do something even remotely physically similar he's all over it!

There's a contestant named Kacy Catanzaro and she "liked" a picture I posted of him working out and he was STOKED! Completely star struck. It was really cute.

B asked me to climb to the top with him so I did. When I got up there he says "you're being active, Mom". Really? Thanks buddy. Didn't realize that I was such an inactive person:)

And some more photo dumps from our day at the park. Or afternoon. Cause it was cold.

Another hike

This past Friday we went up the Butte again. This time we went up the other side which is a bit more winding and gradual. Plus, there's stairs. I forgot to bring my phone with me so I wasn't able to get any pictures of the hike up.

I posted this on facebook and my Aunt asked if I was Maria Von Trapp:) I didn't realize how similar it is. I definitely should have started singing and waving my arms. Haha.

There's my baby. And Ginny's.

The verdict from the stair side...it's easier in a "safe" sense. Those stairs get ya though. I wasn't sore at tall from our first trip up, but my calves were sore from this one. Maybe that's why my pants are a little snug...from the booty pump;)

Summer is holding on

Every time I look at the weather forecast and see rain and cold temps a little piece of me wants to find the quickest way to the airport. But then...the clouds part and the temps are in the 60's and my faith in humanity is restored. Yea...that may be slightly dramatic;) I can't be exaggerate how beautiful today was. We went out for a drive instead of doing our usual business of fighting the disaster that is our garage. It was great.

Goodbye summer

I hope if my readers have learned anything...it's that I am completely inconsistent. I don't plan it that way. It just happens. I will chalk it up to my very busy house with two kids that are only 15 months apart, and the older being a very spirited and independent little girl. Now the summer is over and I don't believe I have posted more than a half dozen times. I've got a renewed sense of self. I've got big plans for me and, hopefully, this little piece of cyber world. But let's end this summer on a picture note.

Me and the hubs on vacation

 The littlest loving the swing

I love this picture of the girl!

 My sister and the bigs.

Another favorite of my Dad and the girl:)

My sexy pants for halibut fishing
 That one didn't get away!

Another lovely sunset

So now I gear up for a busy school year filled with projects and re-purposing and all sorts of fun stuff. So don't leave me just yet!

It's been two days since I have entered the world of single parenthood.
Today I:

Tried potty training Miss C again with a different method. The directions clearly state that you should have your child clean themselves up every time they mess, making them realize how unsavory it is to go in their underpants, and it would be so very much easier if they went in the potty. Also that you should do some "drills"; walking away from the potty and briskly walking back, pulling the pants down-sitting in the potty-pulling them back up, 10 times.

my child laughed at every 'drill' and made sure to tell me every time she peed and then went in to the bathroom to clean herself

So she learned the importance of hygiene....but not how to go in the toilet.

I also:
Received an email from our internet provider(we pay by usage here and we have the highest amount you can have) telling me that we are at 80% of our maximum usage for the month and to smarten the heck up unless we wanted to pay overage fees.

this is going to put a serious cramp in my Desperate Housewives via Netflix.(don't judge me...it's like a mystery show)

And:
Find myself wondering why some parents just let their kids stay up till all hours of the night. I realize we are in Alaska and it's summer now, but this happened in Utah also.

put your gosh darn kid to bed! they need sleep and structure just like the rest of us do! and why punish yourself like that?!?!?

It's been a productive thought provoking day.

waiting.....

We are still waiting for Miss C to arrive. My Utah/Idaho/Connecticut family gave me baby shower this past Monday. It was really nice. I got alot of really nice things from everyone:) Jen flew in the Friday before and surprised everyone with her arrival because last we knew she wasn't coming. She is staying with us until baby come...after that not really sure what the plan is:) I'm sure her mom would like her company at their house:) What else has been going on. We made some jelly...that was...interesting:) Squishing blackberry juice from blackberries is less than appealing:) lol.
We went to the aquatic center with Stacie and her kiddos. It was a good time. B tried to drown himself a few times!
-chuckle- I really don't have much to say today. Just kinda hanging out waiting for a baby that will at least start to come on Monday. I'm having the Dr break my water then. We are still praying pretty hard that she comes this weekend. It certainly will be posted when she does:) So till then, enjoy the pics:)

summer

Summer has picked up a bit lately. Aunt Kristen has been here with her kids and Miss Hannah has blessed us with her presence:) I have to say I have welcomed the change of pace:) These last 2 weeks of my pregnancy are still going slow even with more activities so I can only imagine how much it would have dragged without it:)
Wednesday night we went to the rodeo at the Golden Spike across the street from our house. It was fun:) B enjoyed himself...but like any little kid he was a trooper for a good hour and then his attention started to wander:) It was nice weather which I was SUPER grateful for. We missed the Pioneer Days rodeo because it was just so hot...so I'm glad we were able to go to this one.
This past weekend everyone went up to Idaho to visit Marc and Stacie in their habitat:) Needless to say this family stayed home:) While it would have been alot of fun to go see them...Matt and I got alot of stuff done around the house...which was nice:D
Yesterday the ladies (and Devin and B) went to the aquatic center for a few hours. It was fun. I think we all had a good time but were definitely tired by the end of the day! I'm still tired today. B didn't wake up till 845...and neither did I:) So today we are hanging out at home because the others have gone to Lagoon. It would have been good to go but, 1) no money and 2) not sure how long I would have lasted! Oh well:) So here's some pics and a video from our adventures! Enjoy!
