Is it possible

Here I am. It's the middle of July. We get the keys to our new place the 28th. The hubs gets home the 30th. Sassy pants gets registered for kindergarten the 2nd of August. She-devil has a birthday on the 25th of August. I can't believe it. The time is coming faster than it seems to be going by.
Does that make sense? It does in my mind.
Two years. It has been two years since this spit fire little girl has blessed us with her presence. And just yesterday I was pregnant with sassy pants. Ever hopeful to start our cute little family and be great parents. Well we started our cute family...not sure what happened to the "great parents" part.  haha.
In other news, my sister is still talking about coming out here for school. I am really trying to keep an even keel so 'if' she doesn't come I'm ok. Wow, I had a lot of things blogger-worthy and now I can't focus to save my life. Must be all the chocolate I've eaten:) My hubs sent me flowers to show his love. And you know flowers aren't complete without chocolate. I can also not believe how I have not realized how delicious Ferrero Rocher is! Seriously, I have problems:)
Anyway! A picture of my flowers.

This week our family has been blessed. No, we didn't win the lottery or meet some new best friends. Our daughter has decided to vocalize! We now have the blessings of hearing mine, mil(milk), tee(teeth), moeee(more) and daddy. Small start I know, but it's a heck of a lot better than just plain screaming all the time!

Today I put her down for a nap after changing her poopy pants, and of course she wasn't happy about it! I left the room to her crying and saying "daddy,...daddy.....daddy" like Matt was really going to go save her:) The girl can hope!

Our eldest needs something to do. He's bored out of his mind. We are really hoping and praying that we can scrounge up the dough for him to join a pop warner football league this summer. I know he wants to...so it's just a matter of funding it. Matt and I are also trying to come up with a plan on how to get him to 'want' to be good. So if anyone has any ideas or has seen some cool ideas online or has friends that have a system that works...PLEASE pass it on! I know I'm tired of dealing with freak outs and obstinate behavior.

My dear husband of whom I love so much has tomorrow off. I'm certainly glad for the extra hands on one hand...and not on the other:) Our pediatricians office gave us a cool book on things to do with kids in Anchorage and I found a park in their I want to check out tomorrow. There's a whole list of trails also...so when we lose a bit more snow I plan on taking the kids on them.

blah...alright. I'm out! Oh! If anyone can tell me why if "Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest" that my kids refuse to nap?!

5 1/2 months

There is joy in children. Really. I mean it. Until they turn five. Then it's time to go to school! Five is a fabulous age to start learning by way of English, and math and science...and a Teacher. One that teaches in a school and gets paid. I am no teacher. Try as I might and imagine that I can...I can't. I know that patience is a vice of mine that I am here to learn. I'm not ignorant to that. But teaching children and the patience that comes with that is a whole new ball game
.
Our son loves to learn. LOVES it. He missed the date for starting school because of his birthday and that was a complete bummer. So it gave him another whole year to stay at home with Mom, and have a miserable  fun time. The poor kid has a great imagination but even that can only take him so far until he is quite literally bouncing off the walls in boredom. And as much as I want to help him...there's no patience to be had.

So here we are. Roughly 5 1/2 months away from him starting kindergarten. How do I feel about this? Well, I'm thrilled. And nervous. And happy. And scared. I'm so excited for him to go and make friends and learn to read and have an outlet besides us. I'm excited to have only one child that climbs up the walls and back talks and pushes me to the very last ounce of self control. But I'm heart broken that my "baby" is growing up. It's just the start of slowly not needing Mom as much as he used to. And that makes me sad. Until I think about how many more fights and head butting that is also going to come from him going to school. And how he's going to act like he is so much smarter than me. And that makes me exhausted!

So, for the next 5 1/2 months, I'll do my best to hold onto the sweet moments and not lose my temper quite as fast as normal, because it will soon be over. And we will be at another chapter in his book. And who wouldn't want to look at this face all day:)

AWKwaaaard

So apparently my son is getting older....who knew? Well it was big wake up call to me today as I was getting ready to feed baby C.
When I breastfeed I in no way flaunt my boobs. And even more so now with this baby because I'm aware that B is just that much older. So I practice modesty the best I can when putting a large mass of boob into a baby's mouth:)
Well, today, I'm telling my son that I have to feed his brother and then we will go to the grocery store. He then tells me that my boobs are disgusting. Awesome. I say 'thank you' in response. He then tells me...oh actually they are beautiful.
What?! Did he really just say that? Does he know what he just said? How do I handle this? Ummmmm....buh. I'm at a loss. So I say.."yeaaaa.... that's inappropriate". I usually handle mis-communications with him very well because I chalk it up to innocence. So was this also innocent? It's hard to call it that when he has a Dad that doesn't necessarily hide his 'gropings'. So B has seen that breasts are something of an attraction to his Dad and he is a boy too.
Needless to say...I'm not ready for this. I just want to lock my little boy up and shelter him from all the nonsense that life is:) Well not entirely...but mostly. The world is a scary and exciting place and this little harmless comment from my son has thrown me into a loop of realizing, yet again, that I'm parenting by the seat of my pants! I guess all I can do is hope and pray I do the absolute best I can for him.

Any awkward moments you've had with your kids lately?

Sleeping 2

So I think everyone is aware now that we are staying at my in-laws. They have a five bedroom home but we are staying in the dungeon as some put it. This works for me. It's a place to let the kids run around like banshees when they are hyper. A place to send the eldest to watch tv when I'm about to rip my eyes out. And generally just where I'd rather be. It works out perfectly. Except. At. Bedtime.
Last night was a rather special one as you could tell from my post. Sorry about that. For starters, the last week or so has been rough because my baby has been teething, which has caused loose stools. I know...TMI. But it's relevant to my insanity. Her bum is red and has open sores on it from the numerous BM's she has a day. I have quit counting because it has already started making my eye twitch. I am using baby powder, and Balmex, and Desitin, and a bath in baking soda. whew...back to the point. She likes to have one of these movements after I put her in bed...for like the past week. She can't just go to sleep because she is sharing a room with her brother. They like to entertain each other. Cute right? No. Especially when I have a cramped back from all this diaper changing business and want to use the jetted tub down in my dungeon:) So I get done blogging and go to get in the bathroom and my eldest is peeking out of his room, with a green shirt on. you've got to be freaking kidding me  So I stomp up the stairs and into his room. He has on his church shirt, a tie, dress pants, and shoes with no socks on...over his pj's. "what are you doing? it's time for bed"!!! "FINE! I am not going to church ANYmore". "No you aren't...because church isn't at night"!!!
I make him get undressed and get a faint whiff of poo. C if you've freakin pooped again I'm going to kill myself. -smell- you have GOT to be joking me!!!!! So I take sore bottom girl and change her yet AGAIN, all the while cursing her butt:) Get her back in bed, and threaten my son with a spanking if he doesn't go to sleep. An older child would have mocked me because it has been a very long time since I have spanked him and it's now an empty threat. I left. And went to my rocking chair. Wanting to cry but not. I'm hoping for a better night tonight. One with a little less poop and more sugar plums dancing in heads. Till the next fun-filled adventure,
-Meg

And the worst part of the day is...

-chuckle- It seems to me that the most looked at blogs are the ones that complain the most. Maybe not complain...but always have some sort of drama going on. No one is interested in normal functioning people. I really use the word normal loosely here. I am not normal by any stretch of the imagination. I also do not typically have a soap opera of a life. My day consists of watching my two kids...who really are well behaved, doing housework, and whatever else I feel like basically.
And the most insane part about all of this, is, it doesn't really matter...does it? I mean...what is having a hundred "followers" on my blog going to do for me? Makes me more of a target for weirdos. What is the deep desire to have this following? To feel like I am someone worth reading about? Sure. I guess. I don't know...I think I'll have to analyze this some more. Can you tell I just put the kids to bed? :) 7 o'clock is the worst part of the day. I used to think it was the bewitching hours of 4-7. But now it's just 7. I have done it to myself. We started a routine with the eldest that we are carrying on with the baby...which is dinner, bath, read, bed. All fine and dandy...except when I really just want to throw them in pj's and call it good. It's a lot of work right at the end. When I want to blog, pickup, take a bath or whatever else. I find myself getting really frustrated. And that's no fun. -chuckle- I really had a completely different direction I was going to take this post. Maybe another time.

Instead...I'll get in writing that I went out of my comfort zone and took the kids to see some fireworks last night. I wouldn't have done this on my own except a couple women from my ward asked me to come. And I skip out on doing things with them a lot. So, I went. It really was a good time. Only thing is I feel like a crazy person because I couldn't keep my eyes off the eldest for 2 seconds. I am so paranoid that he is going to get snatched by some nasty human. So while carrying on conversations I craned my neck all different directions to make sure I knew where he was. -sigh- I wonder if my parents did with me? I'm not sure the worry was quite as severe waaaaay back then;) Ok...I guess I'll get off my soap box and put up a picture of the cuteness:)

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!
Today during sharing time in primary the kids were given pieces of paper with a spot to draw their moms and the some pre-written questions and spaces for the answers. This was mine:
This is my Mom. Her name is Mommy She is about 1 years old. She has white eyes and black hair. She weighs about 16 pounds. Her favorite food is bananas. She's smart, she knows all about going on walks. She spends most of her time playing on the computer. Best of all mother likes to stay home and play a game. My mom takes care of me by stop and look both ways. I think my mother is the best int he world because she wants to eat everything. If I could wish for anything in the world for my mother it would be a big dog.
Mr. Cat has walked in on me as I am typing this and poked fun at the fact that it's funny our son says I spend my time on here and I feel the need to get on and write this. Thanks babe. Love you too. Anyway....I hope all you mother's of children here, or waiting, or ones that you will have after here, have a great day!

Penny for your____

Yesterday was interesting. To say the very least. We had a good day. I tried to find a double jogger/jogging trailer at Kid to kid. I had no such luck...no surprise since it is Spring and everyone wants to get out! After that short trip we went food shopping. I switched it up and went to a different Wal-mart Riveting I know. BUT...on my way our of town I saw our Winco on 12th looking good and almost ready to open!
look at it! :D

Anyway. Afternoon went as usual. Mr. Cat went to workout with his foreman from work...leaving me to tend to the kids:) I can't complain too much since he worked out:) OK. Kids in bed. Chris and I watching Beck. I hear my son, what I think is fooling around, in the other room. So I get up ready to yell and send him back to bed. He's in the bathroom...ok...no yelling. I ask him what he's doing. "I'm going to go poop", and he's got a hurt puppy dog look on his face. "are you ok buddy"? No answer. "B are you ok"? Still no answer. So I get a little huffy and tell him to go poop if he's going to go. So he sits his butt on the toilet and I go in and turn the light on for him. He's sitting there....
And then he says:

"a mviohg went down my froat".
Me:"what"?
B:"a penj went down my froat".
At this point I chuckle because I think I heard him say a 'penny' went down his throat.
Me: "say that one more time buddy".
B: "a penny went down my throat".

Yes...I heard him right. I had to stifle back my giggling because he clearly is very concerned about what he just did. So I say "so you swallowed a penny and now you're trying to poop it out"? B: "uh huh".
Well, he certainly had the right idea. But I had to let him down slowly that it wasn't going to come right now and that he might have to go to the Dr's. lol. And then he got the lecture of the whole thing. I wasn't at all harsh and he started bawling. Poor kid.
But all seems to be well in the world today. He even told me he couldn't go to the dentist because he swallowed a penny. Nice try!

I was going to update this thing with a new recipe...and a tutorial on how to make a super-hero cape, like the one I made for B. But it's late and I'd like to get in bed before 10:) So instead I'll just put up a few pics of what's been going on lately.

I took some pics of Miss C and her Daddy. Before I grabbed my camera she was looking at him so cute. Like deep into his eyes telling him the mysteries of the world. But go figure...I grab the camera and she quits. Such is the life of a mom trying to capture "moments".

If you are asking yourself "did you guys really let him do that"? The answer is yes! Why, I don't know. Because he thought it would be fun. And he did have a blast until he decided to try it on the bigger stairs and chin-planted! lol. He was ok...just scared him...for about 5 seconds and he wanted to do it again.

I made him this cape today. I was finally able to find a king-silky pillowcase at a thrift store today. I went to two yesterday and they had maybe 5 between the two of them. I told my SIL that if I went to Savers(the thrift store) and they didn't have anything I was going to move in with her...just to shop at the thrift stores. The traffic that we get in these is less than par:)

We went to our wards chili cook off on saturday evening. These are Matt's eyes after preparing some onions to go into the chili. We should have won. And I'm still a little butt hurt that we didn't. Oh well. Better luck next time:) Alright my merry weather friends. Till I get ambition to log some recipes,

The story of a stone cold executioner

Yesterday, poor Woody committed a crime. According to sources he pushed Buzz out the window. In these parts, that's a crime. So local law enforcement, being the model citizen that he is, took it into his hands to punish Woody,....by hanging!

He was fairly pleased with his noose and choice of execution. But when it all came down to the nitty gritty....he couldn't bear to watch another second...

Until the fall....and then he was able to pull himself together and watch. Onlookers were shocked and appalled at the ferocity of the punishment. Luckily our beloved retired sheriff Woody survived.

The citizens pleaded and begged for the executioner not to try and hang Woody again. So it was decided, instead of another failed attempt at hanging, that he would just a stern talking to....

Watch yourself Woody...I'm not sure the citizens can save you again.....

4 years and still counting:)

We did it! B's birthday was a success:) He had a great time, and I have to say I quite enjoyed myself also. It's really fun now that he actually takes notice to what;s going on,...more so than last year. And Zurchers....AWESOME store! So needless to say I am very excited for his birthday next year...whatever theme it may be:) He had his 4 year old Dr appt yesterday and got some shots. He did really good. He didn't cry, but it wouldn't have bothered me if he did, and got the flu mist. All in all he is healthy,...minus the cavity she saw.. :/ Eek! Bad mother I am. Soooo...gotta save up some money to take him to the dentist since we don't have dental ins.
In other news. Well, there is no other news:) Matt has his last day of work for the week today and welcomes a 5 day vacation:) And I am very much looking forward to it:D Ok...so without further adieu here are some pics

Birthday boy in his new church clothes!

non-professional photo shoot :)

Hello all my furry friends:) What's new and exciting in your worlds? Not too much new here. We are still slowly getting used to having a new bundle of love in the house:) It's been better this week. I have managed to get up and dressed and have some sort of a schedule before 10:) Exciting I know. Miss C is over 3 weeks old now. It's hard to believe. It's even more hard to believe that I see pregnant women and think to myself..."awww i want to be preggo again". What is wrong with women that, after just having turned our woman-hood into a train wreck, we can still somehow get that newborn baby itch? It's messed up! Anyway. Well the 'get out of the house' excitement this week was a 'wish i was a photographer photo shoot' :) Go me!!! lol. So here are some of the field trip:) Enjoy!

The plans for this week you ask? Not a whole lot. We are supposed to have some cooler weather which will be awesome! The in-laws leave for New England this week...wish I could go, but I haven't lost my brain that much:) And I think my little family is going to go to ID and visit the other half of this psychotic family :P And some more 'mock' photo shoots:) So till then,

I really love my son:)

So I have to write this down so I don't forget these precious moments:) We just got home from the grandparents and B asked to borrow Charlotte's Web. I said yes...even though my better judgement wants to say no...because it makes me cry:) Anyway...I just went in to give him his bear and kind of settle him in for a rest...and he says "Mom, he's so cute. Can I have a pig? Can I have a pig Mom?" I don't know why but it just made my heart patter:) This crazy rambunctious hyper active child is still very much an innocent little boy that wants a pig:) Lol...yea... i guess the preggo hormones are on overdrive:)

They are pretty cute though.....maybe we'll talk to Daddy;)

In other daily events. I had my Dr's appt today. I didn't gain any weight on their scales...so that was very exciting. I'm still sealed up like a jam jar though:) I will be 37 weeks on Monday. We'll see how this all pans out. It's really an all new experience considering B's delivery was induced fully and all I remember is super intense contractions. So....I'm walking in the dark here. Oh well. Ok...enough rambling for now. Till thne,

alone....

I ...am really alone. My sister in law came down to visit her sister who is also pregnant and then came up to the in-laws for dinner today. She offered to take my son for a few days since I was planning to go up there for a visit anyway. It was hard for me to let him go...not because he would have a problem, but because they are sooo busy with school and their own 4 kids. I feel guilty. And...it's my birthday tomorrow so I won't have B or Matt here with me and that's sad. Lol...I talked to her on the phone and said I was thinking that I should say "thank-you", but I'm not sure I am thankful...:) I mean obviously I am thankful, but it's sooo very weird not having my bff appendage here :/ So I have to figure out what to do with myself for the next few days until I make the journey up north. Sewing is probably up there. I also have a backyard to mow....if it would ever quit raining:) I know it's going to be lonely here. So lonely that I video-clipped the storm front move in...lol. So here for your viewing enjoyment:)

Mr. Hyde

Well I have successfully completed one week without Matt home. I have to say this has been the toughest week I've had with my son. I'm not sure who this new child is but he better bring back my sweet, helpful, cooperative son. Our days alone and evenings before bed have become something that you would see on Super Nanny. It is really sad and I feel absolutely helpless and clueless on how to deal with him. So this week I have tried Frank's hot sauce....no luck. I've tried lemon juice....but when he asks for it...lol...obviously not a good one. So I have picked up my 1-2-3 Magic book that my Aunt has sent me. I am going to figure him out.
As far as the pregnancy goes, I am feeling better sick-wise. I'm still quite exhausted half the day. If I don't eat a snack by 10 I'm ready to eat a cow. It's quite annoying actually. Being on the verge of passing out isn't fun. lol. My stomach is getting moved upward so I look like a pudgy person. Kills me. I think I will have to buy maternity pants by the time I see Matt again. Ahh fun.
I put this video on here buut I don't know how to rotate it the right way...sorry. anyway. I've got some pictures to show when I get my act together and upload them. lol. So till then,

Just Because

Random picture of the first born. Because he's cute. He's funny. He's hyper as all get-out. He loves me. And I love him.

Yes I'm weird. I have a picture of our new kitten that I need to get on the comp. And we put B down for a nap today, but he did his usual playing. I went him to get him for dinner and he was passed out on the floor. He NEVER does that. I will show the proof when I get that pic on the comp also. Till then.

Back Home

Hello my fairy weather friends. I'm here for a quick post as my house is quite full at the moment. I went up to M&S's house this past Monday through Thursday afternoon. It was a fun time. I spent too much money at the bookstore, we went swimming, laughed at the very dramatic life of Nikki, and visited. We went to the park. I got a new kitten. Yes...I have lost my mind. Oh and I brought Miss B home with me. So I've got 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. And 2 adults. Kitty is not very happy with life at the moment. She is so cranky. Anyway. Here are some pics from the adventure. Enjoy!

In Season...

So my family definately recommends seeing Kung Foo Panda. It was very funny. B sat through the whole thing and made sure I was watching it also. We'd be 15 minutes into it and he'd grab my face, "Mommy...wook, it's a bear". It was cute and annoying at the same time. :)

Saturday the old ladies and myself (and the old man!), went to the Weber yard sale. It wasn't all that exciting. They were having a horse show there also. That was cool. Later in the afternoon a Springer volunteer dropped off a foster dog to me. She is very cute. All covered in Freckles. But there was a problem with her name...it was Molly. So I changed it. It's now Brinley. Of course she doens't pay any attention to it or Molly...so what the heck:)

She seems to be a pretty good girl. A little bit of food/toy aggression. So that will need to be worked on. And...this is the kicker...she's in heat! YAY!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I don't know how long she's been in heat, or if she just started. So I bought her a garment diaper...lol. It's special looking.

On the positive side of things, a possible adoptive family came to see her yesterday and they LOVED her. So I'll deal with the mess, get her spayed and then she'll be off to her new forever home. :) Here's a pic of my new foster daughter..
