You might be a photgrapher when

You make a reference about how your new sunglasses are like going from 5 megapixels to 15.

I have my very first pair of prescription sunglasses! So stoked I can't even tell you! I had a different pair picked out but the hubs saw the 'Oakley' sign and couldn't help himself:) Who says women are the only brand mongers.
I'm still waiting on my regular glasses, but it's ok. Nothing wrong with wearing shades in the rain...
Right?

living

I am not dead my friends.
We have camped, packed, and moved. And in an hour I go to the airport to pick up the hubs!!!! So, while I have a ton of things to write about...I'm not sure it's going to get soon:) So I apologize for those of you whose lives revolve around my blog. Ha! Talk to you soon...

dead halt

So, remember this post? Well that contest has come to an end. I am sorry to report, that I did, in fact lose. Bummer. I knew I wasn't going to win because my weight loss had, and still is, at a complete stop. I am attributing it to stress. And I have a Dr backing me up on that. So there you go ;)
Anyway. I bowed out and realized my defeat and thought that I would still watch my eating in hopes that the stress of leaving the "competition" would help me out. Well. It hasn't. No shocker there.  The hubs and I told each other that while he was gone the next 6 weeks that we wouldn't nag one another about weight, but that we would just do our thing and return to each others arms as new and sexified people.
-please contain your laughter-
I think it was...umm...week 2 that I gave that up also. I have been eating whatever I feel like eating and haven't gained a pound yet! I think this sabbatical will do me some good and let me re-energize myself for the long haul of getting back to pre-marriage. It's going to take some serious effort. Effort that is going to have to wait until after I move and get sassy pants in school. And it will also wait until I have gotten these out of my system...

(PB,jelly, and "fluff")

Now if you will excuse me...I believe I hear some chocolate animal crackers begging to be eaten....

If I don't answer it's because I'm self medicating

Life has been less than calm lately. Our lease ends the last day in August and apparently that just recently sunk into my brain. So I have been all hot and bothered with trying to figure out what we are going to do. B, who will now be referenced as 'Sassy pants' from here on out, starts school in less than a month! (I can't even put into words how excited I am) So school has been on the forefront of my mind. So I've been researching. Since this is our first experience with children doing the school thing I was behind the eight by about a year or so with getting him on a charter school's list. tsk tsk.

Long story longer, our local school is ranked 83rd in a district of 120. In case you were wondering, yes, that is pretty bad.  So the hunt began for a new place to live in a better district. After being on craigslist, for basically 24 hours straight, the heavens opened and a beam of light streamed in my line of sight to a 3 bedroom townhouse across town.
-insert singing angels here-
And the school is ranked...wait for it...wait for it...10th!!!! I have been ecstatic! So we move the end of this month.

Now enter trips to the liquor store and heavy sedatives for the kids

Our daughter, who will now be known as 'she-devil' has:
  • played in the 10 lb bag of flour more than once
  • decided her baby brother makes a fabulous stepping stone
  • gotten the scissors out of the drawer and held the handle in her mouth while walking around the house
  • thrown temper tantrums that I swear will get the DCF called on me
Why is this relevant? Because with this...child...running around how the heck am I supposed to get anything done? Honestly. I would like to know. I still have 2.5 weeks till the hubs gets home and he is planning on only needing one good moving day to get all out of here. PUH!!! Maybe I should ask him what the natives are giving him up there to alter his ability to think rationally...

Cause I would like some too.

p.s.-the wet pb i'm talking about is the dirty knife sitting in the sink, and Bajios is the best Mexican food you will ever eat

When camera meets tripod

It's my birthday. In like four days. My husband has smuggled gifts into our house and I haven't known where they are. I knew he had smuggled them in because he can't keep a secret like that to save his life, but I told him I didn't want them until my birthday. They were secret until last night when I needed to get a bed sheet and he said not to yank them all out. Well, knowing you have presents and where they are is different than not knowing where they are. I had the itch. I thought about them all day. And I know when I casually mention things that I want to Matt, he gets it on the brain too and wants to do what I ask.(unless of course it's chore related!)
Well....I cracked. I mentioned to him that I wanted them. So then he says 'ok' like I knew he would and I try to tell him that "no, don't....keep them till Wednesday". I said this not so convincingly;) So happy early birthday to me! He got me a....

Tripod!!!

It's pretty gosh darn neat if I do say so myself! The head on it swivels! So it's waaaay easy to use. So easy a 5 year old can do it. And he did. Of course he couldn't get the hang of pressing the shutter button half-way to let it focus and then finishing the job with a little more pressure. No.
Instead he pressed it half-way...and held it...and held it some more. I tried and tried to tell him how to do it but he was having some major issues. He'd get it once...and capture my overwhelming 'patience' facial expression.

I know. Special.
It's hard for me...trying to explain things to children. Instead I get flustered and watch them depress the button...and then have like a turret's twitch in anticipation of pressing the button all the way...and then nothing happening. I thought for a few moments he was going to side twitch my camera off the tripod! But he somehow managed to snap a few...and then I had to snap a few because it was part of my gift!!!

she's so pleasant!

not half bad!

Happy early birthday to me!!!

Please, step into my Office

I'm in love. No really. It's true. And the thing is...it's with someone other than my husband! Shameful I know. Who, do you ask, has stolen the affections that should only be held by Matt?
This man:

His name: Michael Scott.

And this man:
Dwight Schrute.

And...I'm even in love with another couple.

Meet Pam and Jim.

The Office has a special place in my heart. When Matt first started traveling for his work (Hawaii) he would come home for a week. And what do you do when you have a whole week of nothing to do but loving your spouse? You find a tv show that you can both snuggle up to in bed, with a dvd player, and waste away your afternoon watching.

Seriously....I have never enjoyed watching a show more than I have this one because Matt and I really did this together. It had his whole attention. And if you know my hubs at all, you know this in and of itself, is a daunting task! So we watch the Office...still. No, we don't have every season on dvd. Which makes netflix...awesome. Like ridiculously awesome!

At the end of a day filled with temper tantrums, dirty diapers, drained boobs, and lost brain cells...I know all is well when the hubs and I crawl into bed, turn on the Ipad, and watch the Office. It's the little things that make my world go round.

What about you? Any special routines or shared interests that you know you couldn't live without? I'd love to know!

A good read

My SIL Stacie sent me this book after she mentioned that I should read it. It was awesome. A fairly easy read but a definite page turner. I flew through it in about a day and half between taking care of children, and sleeping:)
Once in a while I come across something that really 'hits home', I guess, in my life. The last time I had something move me like this was when I bawled my eyes out at The Notebook. No, not the actual book but, the movie. The love story is absolutely compelling. It has left my stomach with butterflies and my heart craving the passion for love that the main characters have for each other.
Matt came home after I finished it and I was drawn to him. I asked him if he loved me so much it hurt. (Being completely sincere mind you!) His answer...."you have no idea how painful it is to love you"! Nice guy huh ;) So I guess I will reserve my 'pioneer love story' to my mind. I said to him that I wished we lived back then so we could have a "simple" life....and quickly thought of all the children born in this book...without pain killers and no way to stop the fertilizing! No thanks!

All in all...if you haven't read it...mark it on your list. I'm pretty positive you won't be disappointed!

So now, I've recommended a book...it's your turn...any page turners I should pick up?

who's worse?

Our schedule thus far has been to go grocery shopping, as a family, on Saturdays. This will be ending. We can never seem to get out of the house more than an hour before lunch. So by the time we get there the children are starting to turn into the savages we all know so well. And then there's the spouse. I love nothing more than to spend time with him. Seriously. But the whole time we are out I worry about keeping the kids under control so they don't irritate Dad. They can/do irritate me all the time...I'm used to it. Matt on the other hand...really only has so much patience. Between every one and their brother being at the store, B asking for a toy, over, and over and over again, miss C whining because she's hungry along with baby C. ...we all want to rip each others heads off 15 minutes into it. So I get all flustered and end up taking twice as long to find things, or remember what I need to get and then we always seem to forget something.
So I think, I have decided, that I am going to take Saturday morning and have some Zen time by myself in the car. Because the grocery store is pretty much the only place I know how to get to. And since we don't have our cell phones anymore(heavy sobbing) I won't be able to be called....or texted. Oh.My.Gosh! Just think how many arguments we will have on this day when Mom takes 5 hours to buy food! -insert evil laugh-

In other news....it seems that all of our children are sick now. I have been fighting it valiantly with only a slight sore throat. Go me! Baby C continues to get up twice a night :'( If he continues with this trend till the end of March then I'm going to ask the kids' pediatrician if I can start feeding something of more substance. If she says no...I may have to anyway. I need sleep!!! And...I secretly want a big chunky kid! lol. Although...cleaning him like a shar pei isn't the most fun thing to do. Ok, I think it's time to make a getaway! Till then,
Meg

I'll show you blankets!!!!

I love my husband...really. But sometimes he is a grade A putz. Like when I get really excited about a quilt I'm doing or crocheting something and I tell/show him and he kinda shrugs and says "that's nice hunny". Which we ALL know is a nice patronizing way of saying...I'm bored with you! haha. He has in fact told me that ..."anyone can make blankets". So the things I accomplish are no big deal.
So when he saw the purse his sister made...you'd think they just discovered the earth was round! Why? Well because it wasn't a 'blanket', it was 'functional', something you would use every. Day. I'll show you functional!
Behold....the dishcloth!

And the Oscar the grouch hat that looks like a handicapped frog!

I had high hopes for this cute hat. My SIL sent me the link to make this and trying to branch out I tried. Looks like I will have to make another one and tack the eyes on closer to account for stretch when it's put on. And work with the mouth a little bit. It will work. I can do it! If you'd like the tutorial for this hat can be found here. But don't go making one and showing me up! (yes, you Jen;))

But really, Matt's inadvertent insults have helped me want to do more things. So really, thanks hunny! He is the best man I know. I'd even share some whales with him:)

I'm hard at work. Doing lots of things. Sewing, working out, taking pictures. The editing program I use just keeps getting better:) I'm still discovering new things about it.

Matt is working nights now. I don't mind it., we see him more during the day and it makes my days goes quicker having to deal with little ones:) Always nice.

I'm sewing up a storm. I actually need to get on a find a pattern for a quilt I want to make B. And I have all sorts of scrap fabric that I want to make something fun out of.

Well it's dinner time. Gotta figure out what I'm having:) Till the next time,

2 weeks already

So...it's now been over two weeks since our new baby has been born:) Wow. 2 weeks and I haven't killed myself yet:) It hasn't been too bad around here. Mornings are definitely a lot slower:) We have gotten out of the house twice this week. I have showered and gotten dressed 3 times this week:) Probably shouldn't write things like that:x Oh well:) Our nights have been going really well. She consistently sleeps at least 4 hours a night between feedings. Matt helps me by getting her and changing her and I feed and put her back to bed. It seems to work ok and Matt hasn't had any complaints:) We have a Dr appt tomorrow. I am going to brave it and bring B along:) We'll see how it goes. My MIL offered to watch him, but what's the fun in that:) Maybe I'll be singing a different tune tomorrow:P
Anyway, I made some oatmeal bread today...so I will write the recipe on here for all those that asked:) Along with a picture of the finished project and a video of C on her belly:) Hope everyone is good! Till then,
Meg

5 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda

eventful weekend:)

It's Monday...back to the grind of daily chores:) Matt, B and myself had a good weekend. Matty did some lawn care Saturday morning while B and I puttered in the house. We were going to go to the aquatic center in North Ogden but it was packed....and I'm not too excited about swimming like sardines in a pool that isn't "hot" but neither very refreshing. So,..we decided to go check out Willard Bay instead. It was decent. Definitely better than nothing. Matt kept saying it wasn't like Hawaii water...lol. And in my mind I kept thinking it wasn't like the beaches that are back east. So our roles were reversed...he outwardly complained and I held it in trying to make the best of it :P After swimming we took B to see Ice Age 3. It was cute. He enjoyed himself so that's all that matters:) And after THAT...we headed over to Chris' for some dinner off the bbq. He's getting quite good at working his bbq and producing some "D-lish" food:)

So now it's Monday. Matt's at work, and B and I are home doing our chores. Lol..I get all this motivation after the weekend and tire myself out the rest of the week. Ha! Oh well. I am 36 weeks today and that means only 28 more days to go. Holy moly. :) Well...I need to try and get the son to take a nap. Here's a couple pictures for viewing enjoyment:)

No...I don't let my son watch this stupid show...his grandparents in NH got him this t-shirt and swimming shorts:)

at least one of them is smiling:)

ohhhh donut sticks!

My husband and I were in Wal-mart the other day doing some grocery shopping. We went down the snack cake aisle and were talking about tasty treats...lol. I mentioned to him that I liked donut sticks quite a bit. Fast forward a few days and we need milk...because apparently we should just buy a cow. I don't ever remember going thru milk as much as we have been lately. Probably because I've been wanting to eat nothing but cereal:) Well after I get him to run out to the store, the next morning I get in the fridge and there's a donut stick sitting there:) It's got a cute little note on it. I thought it was really sweet...so I left it in there to perhaps enjoy later. Well later comes and I take this cute little stick out and start thinking about the note. Leave it to a fat pregnant woman to turn something really sweet into an insult... :P I thought to myself "self,...you know you're a fatty when your husband leaves notes on donut sticks"! It made me laugh...all day in fact. But just the same this little thought of kindness made me love Matt more than I already do:) Even if he is a putz:P

And here's the latest fatty pic. I'm at 35 wks and 2 days. My back is really achy today. And I have a Dr's appt at 4. But anyway. Hope everyone has a good day. I will be hiding where it is cool...as it is supposed to be 100 tomorrow and Friday. yuck. So till then,

When it snows tomorrow...

Well today has been AWESOME! So awesome I thought I'd share the awesomeness!!!!! B and I puttered around the house for a bit this morning and then headed over to the in-laws for our usual afternoon lunch/visit. Lunch was good. K asked me if I'd be willing to go do a DI run with her because she has boxes that are filled with...let's say...less than valuable things. :) So we tackled the garage to get more boxes with filled "awesome" things:) Well the last time that we endeavored this together, my son saw Grampa's model train and has had eyes for it ever since. But it's a Christmas train...that will only come out at Christmas! That doesn't compute in a 3 year old's head....for all he knows,....xmas is tomorrow! So...lol...trying to put it in more 'understandable' terms, I told him when it snows he can see it. So...now..."Mommy, we can see rampa's train when it snow's tomorrow"! Yes B...you wait for it to snow tomorrow:) And I'm really not sure when he woke up and decided to be a crackhead everyday...but it's wearing me out. :)

So...now we come to the second part of my "awesome" day! Are you ready? And I'm probably going to burn at the stake for complaining publicly about my husband.,...but I guess I'm willing to risk it:P Matt works at home now. He works 10 hour days...which exhaust him. So he's home by 5:30 and by 8 is passing out wherever he may be sitting. I don't mind that. Even though it is like conversing with a zombie...at least he's in the room and I can see him. He has a new calling at church. He's the Elder's quorum secretary. He's a home teacher. He's also made up his mind that he wants to be a "1" instead of a "3"...which I really am happy about. But it takes him away....generally not too long. Tuesdays are gone with him now. Wow...I'm rambling...I'll just get staright to the point...lol. The point is I expect Matt to be home by 530 like every other night so when I get calls of him telling me that he won't be home because he had to take his boss/friend to the hospital .....I'll be honest...it peeves me. And on top of that he has EQ/home teaching! So I'm angry...or irritated(because that makes me sound less stupid...lol) and when I get home(bc i ate dinner at his parents bc I thought he would show up too) he tells me "Meggan, you , B, C, and I have the rest of our lives together". lol. REALLY! That's what I want to hear...is that you are too busy having a bromance with your friend(also the one he watched UFC with...to have his Matt Time) and I shouldn't worry about it because we are set in that dept. Thanks hunny! Well fine....you don't care about the time we spend bc it's infintisimal to what we have left...then go drop off this application, and fax these pay stubs...AFTER your meeting! -sigh-

He thinks I only act this way because I don't have any friends...and he would never get mad at me if I did want to hang out with them. And he thinks I can't handle him being away...guess what...I did it when he was traveling didn't I? lol...He asked what the real reason was that I was mad....because I can't really be upset I'm not spending time with him....what is it? You can't handle B? Thanks again hunny. Glad me wanting your company is because I'm a nut-job and can't handle our son.

Well...-chuckle- now that I've let out more than I should have. And I'll post this and feel bad. But this is the 88th post and I'm not sure I've complained yet. We'll see how smoothly this one goes. So till then,

Meg

Here's an update from the long lost pregnant woman! Not much new to report anyway. The sun has been blessing/blasting us with it's rays. :) The Catanzaro boys are here for a visit and it's put a spin on activities:) My boy has been a little on the hyper side. But other than that...not too much is new. We had FHE on Monday. It was fun...we were going to go to the park, but it's a little of a drive for the one we wanted to go to, so we decided not to. Instead we finger painted. Matt was ok with it....but he decided it would be worth the activity if he used the finger paint in other ways:) The pictures will explain...if you haven't figured it out:)

paintttttt

So the paint is done! Matt and I primed yesterday and I finished it up today. It took me four hours...but I did it! I LOVE it! SO I will let the pictures do most the talking:)

Before any paint...just an awesome tape job by my hubby:D

I wanted B to feel a part of it so he didn't feel like he was shunned...five minutes later...

He stepped right into the primer! lolololol

in the process picture...

And the end result. I need a wide angle lens so I can capture the whole room. But it looks great so far. So voila! Enjoy:)

mess of pictures:)

Ok here we go! This is a picture of our finally planted rose bushes. Matt and I planted them last night. I put some miracle grow for rose bushes that's got bone meal in it so I am a little nervous that the neighbors dog might get frisky with them. All was well last night though...so maybe we're good.

This picture is of the wood flower that I did at the neighbors house. I say i did it...but I kind of suck at using tools....I ten to hurt myself:) But I used the sander and helped hold the board while my neighbor cut. I know...don't hurt myself:) lol. She put hers on a stick and then in her front garden area. I didn't think it would look right so...I hung mine on some twine and put it on the front door...voila:) It was alotta fun.

And here is the Magnolia tree that finally found a home! lol...Matt likes that it's in the middle of the yard. "something else to mow around". pfffff!

And here we have a child that was supposed to be taking a nap! We put some balmex on his face last night because it gets really dry. Well apparently he needed some today and took it upon himself to apply it. LOL. It's really really hard to reprimand when he looks like an apache warrior. LOLOLOL.
Last but not least...I guess...is a picture of me at 25 weeks and 6 days. Looking a little pokey:)

So here you have it. The picture update. Hope you enjoy! Till then,

Holy Holly Hocks!

I am home now. My trip to Idaho was good. Stacie and I did some fun crafty things and got some awesome deals at yard sales. :) I jetted home early because my hubby has a new job and is home now!!!!!! Woo-hoo! We are very excited. He starts his new job on Monday for a company doing a project for P&G in Corinne. It's about 25 minutes away...north, so he won't have to fight traffic on his way home. So we have been busy beavers today. We went for a walk, did some errands, went grocery shopping, and now we are home working on the house. He's doing the lawn stuff(yay!) and I'm tidying up the inside because it was driving me crazy this morning. So glad to have him home, but now we (I) have to adjust to the extra "stuff". This could potentially keep me inside cleaning a lot more:) B is thrilled to death to have his Dad home. It will be interesting to see how long it takes him to stop asking when he goes back to Hawaii.

We are hopefully going to paint the baby's room this weekend so we,(I) can set it up...a few hundred times:) Anyway...I took some pictures of the hollyhocks on steroids in the backyard and my peony that is growing!!! So enjoy! Till then,
Meg

p.s. Matt accidentally canceled my facebook so I have to re-do it...that's why I'm not on anyone's friend list.
